Alloy Refurbishment

How do you repair alloy wheels?

The alloy wheel is removed from the vehicle, and repairs are carried out in the fully equipped repair station at the back of the repair van.

Once the alloy has been repaired, the alloy is taken into the van where it is sprayed in the spray booth, and dried in the drying area

What are the maximum sized alloys you can repair?

We can repair alloys up to 30 inches

I can’t locate my locking wheel nut key. Can you still proceed with the alloy wheel repair?

Our standard procedure is to remove the wheel before beginning the repair. If the wheel cannot be removed, the technician will evaluate whether the damage can still be repaired to our usual standard with the wheel left on the car.

Is it necessary to remove my wheel from the vehicle?

To provide a quality repair, the wheel must be removed from the vehicle to get to hard-to-reach areas. If the repair is carried out with the alloy on the vehicle, the repair won’t be done properly.

What is the duration of the repair warranty?

We offer a genuine, hassle-free 12-month warranty on all our alloy wheel repairs.

Is it necessary to wash my alloys before the repair?

The alloy(s) must be clean and free of debris. Please clean your alloys using only warm water and a mild car cleaning detergent. Avoid using silicone-based cleaners, waxes, or tire shine products, as these can interfere with the repair process.

How should I care for the repair once it’s finished?

Please refrain from washing the alloys for at least 48 hours.

It is important to check the wheel nut torque setting after 20 minutes or 10 miles of driving. The nuts are made from different metals that expand and contract at different rates, which may cause them to loosen.

Can you still repair my corroded alloy wheels?

While a temporary repair to a corroded alloy wheel is possible, the corrosion will eventually return. For this reason, we do not repair corrosion on alloy wheels.

How will you ensure the paint colour matches my alloys?

Our repair vans are equipped with alloy colour swatches, allowing us to match hundreds of different wheel colours. Additionally, our mixing products enable us to create the perfect match for your exact colour.

In the rare event that our technician is unable to find an exact match, we will make every effort to obtain a solution from a specialist paint provider or the vehicle manufacturer and will reschedule your appointment.

How long will it take for the technician to repair my wheel(s)?

We allow 90 minutes for the repair of a single alloy, or up to 5 hours for a full set with large alloys. This time includes removal and refitting, so please ensure the locking wheel nut is available.

Can my alloy repairs and bodywork damage be completed at the same time by the same technician?

We always aim to complete multiple repairs at the same time, but this may not always be possible depending on the location, as repairs are assigned to technicians based on their skills and availability.

Am I required to be on-site for the entire repair?

Yes, you or an authorized representative must be present. The technician will need your approval to begin work on your vehicle and will ask you to confirm satisfaction with the repair upon completion.

Is it possible for someone else to be present during the repair if I’m unavailable?

We prefer the vehicle owner to be present for pre- and post-repair approval. However, if this is not possible, you may authorize someone else to act on your behalf. Please notify us in advance with their name so our technician is informed. You can contact us on   020 3435 5404 to provide this information.

What should I do if I’m dissatisfied with the quality of the repair?

We strive to complete all repairs to the highest standard. With thousands of alloy repairs carried out annually, more than 98% of our customers are satisfied with the quality of our work. However, if you are dissatisfied with your repair, please contact our customer service team right away on 020 3435 5404.

Will this repair impact my vehicle’s value?

Repairs are carried out using the highest quality paints and materials, and all our technicians are highly skilled in minor vehicle bodywork and alloy repairs. Our goal is to restore your vehicle to its condition before the damage occurred, so this should not impact your vehicle’s value.

What if it’s raining when the repair is scheduled?

In most cases, we can proceed with the repair even if it’s raining. Our technicians carry a specialized repair tent to protect the vehicle from the rain during the process. However, in the event of extreme weather conditions, the technician may need to reschedule the repair.

What is the reason my repair was declined?

As a mobile repair service, we provide a fast and convenient solution for repairing minor damage. However, the mobile nature of our service limits the size, location, and severity of the damage we can address.

As a result, there are occasions when we may need to decline a job if we feel we cannot achieve our usual high standard of repair.

What payment methods are available for my repair?

Our technicians carry payment card readers to process payments. We also accept payment via bank transfer or cash.

Diamond Cut Alloy Refurbishment

How does 365smartrepair repair diamond-cut alloy wheels?

We offer lathe repairs for diamond-cut alloy wheels.

A lathe repair involves using a specialist machine to restore your diamond-cut wheels back to their original manufacturer condition.

How does the diamond cut lathe work?

The lathe can identify and analyse your specific alloy wheels, as well as thousands of other wheel designs and sizes. The diamond-cut features of your wheels are stored and integrated into the cutting software, allowing for precise replication of the original manufacturer’s diamond-cut design. This ensures the wheels are restored to their original factory condition, free from distortion, rounding, or uneven surfaces often caused by a cosmetic repair.

Will my alloys look like the rest of my undamaged alloys after a repair?

Yes, all alloys will look the same. Our diamond cut lathe provides an identical cut to match the rest of your alloy wheels.

What are the maximum sized alloys you can repair in the diamond cutting lathe?

Our diamond cutting lathe can repair and cut alloys up to 30 inches

Is it necessary to remove my wheel from the vehicle?

To provide a quality diamond cut repair, the wheel must be removed from the vehicle to get to hard-to-reach areas. A genuine diamond cut repair cannot be done with the wheel on the car, as the alloy needs to be placed in the lathe.

Is a diamond cut lathe the best way to repair my alloys?

A lathe repair is the recommended method by alloy manufacturers as it preserves the diamond-cut face. Other cosmetic repair methods, such as using a hand sander, round off the diamond-cut edge, resulting in a dull and uneven surface that completely removes the diamond-cut finish.

What is the duration of the repair warranty?

We offer a genuine, hassle-free 12-month warranty on all our diamond cut lathe repairs.

We always strive to deliver a flawless finish when repairing a customer’s car. However, depending on the size or location of the damage, a perfect result may not always be achievable, though we can still make a significant improvement.
